Chairman's WelcomeA Chairde,
I wish to welcome you to the official website of Caragh GFC, Prosperous, a club steeped in tradition and familial surrounds from its foundations in 1888, originally as Prosperous GFC, to this day. We consider ourselves to be a club with vision, one which caters for all age groups, but one which excels at mentoring, coaching and developing young players. At present our underage structure compares with the best in County Kildare. I cannot emphasise enough the devotion all volunteers have in order to facilitate this present structure. It is awe inspiring and refreshing to see children in their masses playing the game and learning through fun with constant yet inconspicuous tuition. My own involvement in the club goes back to my earliest memories. Through my parents, I followed teams and heard dressing room speeches. I saw bad times when we struggled to survive and stood in loosing dressing rooms as a child watching grown men pain in defeat. I saw my mother ritually wash jerseys and sew footballs together. I watched all of this and soaked it up. I became part of a club that refused to stay small. I lifted cups, I celebrated victories, I played against the best, I played with the best, I retired, I coached, I cut and marked pitches, I did as much as I could and loved every minute of it. I have made friends I will have for life and am proud of what we continue to do on a daily basis. For now we are looking to expand what we have. We hope to continue to develop our underage structure and once more we are refusing to stay small. We have plans for our future and we have the work ethic in place. This will take efforts of which our volunteers are all willing to meet. Our doors are always open to new members, new ideas and new levels of enthusiasm and drive. For those of you who were and are involved, players, parents and volunteers, I thank you for your time and help on behalf of the club. For those who are not yet involved I invite you to partake in the family that is Caragh GFC, Prosperous. Trust me when I say that the camaraderie is infectious. Le Meas, Pat Dunne, Chairman The Power(comm)
